Senior General Foreman / Works Manager – Leiston, Suffolk
Danny Sullivan Group is looking for an experienced Senior General Foreman / Works Manager to oversee a major infrastructure project in Suffolk. This role involves leading site operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for managing teams, coordinating with key stakeholders, and driving efficient site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Lead and supervise site teams, including foremen, operatives, and subcontractors, ensuring high productivity and performance.
Plan and coordinate daily site activities, ensuring work aligns with project schedules and targets.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a strong safety culture.
Monitor and manage site resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, to optimise efficiency.
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and drive project progress.
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure quality control and adherence to specifications.
Identify potential risks and implement mitigation measures to avoid delays and disruptions.
Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, workforce records, and health & safety documentation.
Foster a positive working environment, encouraging teamwork, accountability, and professional development among site staff.Experience & Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Senior General Foreman or Works Manager on large-scale infrastructure projects.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience overseeing site teams.
In-depth knowledge of construction processes, site management, and health & safety regulations.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Strong communication and organisational abilities to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or equivalent qualification.
CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
First Aid at Work qualification (preferred).
Full UK driving licence.Benefits
