Job Description
Learning Support Functional Skills Tutor
Location: Elephant and Castle | Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
Are you passionate about empowering learners, including those with learning difficulties and disabilities, to achieve their goals? As a Learning Support Functional Skills Tutor, you'll deliver personalized support and help learners succeed in Functional Skills programs. You’ll work face-to-face within a 25-mile radius of SE1, providing one-to-one and group sessions, managing learning interventions, and collaborating with tutors and employers to optimize learner outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging Functional Skills and Learning Support sessions (face-to-face and online).
* Support learners to progress in line with their personalized plans.
* Use evidence-based teaching methods and innovative tools like Cognassist.
* Work with colleagues to boost learner engagement, retention, and outcomes.
* Ensure compliance with ESFA guidelines and internal quality standards.
Essential Qualifications:
* Teaching qualification (or working towards).
* Proficiency in Maths and English (Level 3).
* Experience in delivering Functional Skills and Learning Support.
Desirable:
* Degree in Education/Business or subject-specific qualifications.
* Assessor Award (e.g., CAVA, TAQA).
