Hales Group are working with their client who is recognised as one of the biggest leaders in the renewable energy market as a significant contributor to the production of biomass energy for the home market.
As the Fuel Handling Operator, you will be assisting the Fuel Team Leader in a safe and efficient delivery of the fuel into the plant, you will complete day to day operations to achieve maximum output, whilst maintaining the highest levels of safety.
Shift pattern is averaging 38 hours a week (Monday to Sunday)
Salary for this role is £24,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience
Key responsibilities
To ensure the safe and efficient delivery of fuel into the station.
Operate a loading shovel, ensuring safe and efficient operation (EXPERIENCE PREFFERED BUT TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN).
Shunting of HGV vehicles in the yard (EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT TRAINING WILL BE GIVEN).
To complete fuel and ash sampling routines.
Assist the plant operators with ash bin movements.
To execute operational and ‘frontline’ maintenance activities in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
Assist the plant operators to investigate plant problems and identify solutions.
Ensure all daily inspections and routine preventative maintenance of machinery is carried out and recorded. The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a production based environment preferably agricultural but will consider other sectors, with good verbal and written communication skills. This position requires a high degree of flexibility due to nature of employment, self-motivation and the ability to work well as part of a team.
