About the Role:
Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer with a passion for all things mechanical? Do you have a background in maintaining forklift trucks (Gas, Diesel / internal combustion engines), or access platform type equipment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a leading company as part of their dynamic service and maintenance team.
As a Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and servicing a variety of forklift trucks and related machinery for a client with multiple sites across the Northwest.
With no two days the same, you’ll enjoy the challenge of solving complex engineering issues while delivering top-tier customer service.
The Field Service Engineer role:
* Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on forklift trucks and machinery powered by internal combustion engines.
* Ordering and administrating parts and consumables.
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults on-site and in the workshop.
* Carry out pre-planned maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.
* Provide technical support and advice.
* Offer Engineering services to the wider company function where appropriate.
* Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company guidelines.
The successful Service Engineer:
We’re looking for a motivated and skilled professional who has:
* Proven experience in servicing and repairing forklifts, powered access (mewps/scissor lift...), or similar equipment.
* Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines (diesel, gas, or petrol).
* Mechanical bias with a solid understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
* A full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
* Great communication skills and the ability to work independently.
