Job Description
Responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the finance team, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance. This role includes managing financial data, preparing financial statements, oversee variance analysis. Ensure that the team adheres to accounting standards and internal controls while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership
Supervise and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance and professional development.
Coordinate daily activities, assign tasks, and monitor workflow to ensure deadlines are met.
Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled. Conduct monthly reconciliations of accounts to ensure the integrity of financial information.
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts. Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and communicate findings to management.
Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies, identifying areas for process improvements. Support external audits by preparing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries
Prepare and review accurate financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, and communicate findings to management.
Essential:
UK accounting experience - minimum 5 years
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Technical/professional qualifications
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) 2-3 years post qualified experience
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft ExcelBefore You Apply
