Are you ready to take the financial reins of a dynamic and growing leisure business in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK?
My client is looking for a commercially astute Financial Controller to lead their finance function during an exciting period of growth and transformation. Based in stunning Cumbria, you'll work closely with the Managing Director, playing a key strategic role as the company looks to expand-organically and through acquisition.
About the Role:
As Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end finance function-from managing and developing the finance team to driving operational improvements across the board. You'll ensure robust reporting, compliance, and controls are in place while actively contributing to the company's wider growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a small finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting
Own the monthly management accounts, budgets, cash flow, and forecasting
Support and advise the MD on financial performance and strategic opportunities
Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, processes, and procedure
Play a key role in upcoming acquisitions, from financial due diligence to integration
Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirementsWhat We're Looking For:
Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with a strong technical grounding
Proven experience in an SME or multi-site environment (leisure or hospitality a bonus!)
Commercially aware with a hands-on, proactive mindset
Strong leadership skills and a natural drive to streamline and improve
