Are you passionate about supporting parents to strengthen family relationships? We are looking for a dedicated Family Support Worker to provide vital 1:1 support to fathers navigating parenting challenges, communication barriers, and family dynamics.
As a Family Support Worker, you will provide guidance to fathers who may be struggling with co-parenting, communication with their ex-partner, or setting boundaries with their child. Some clients may have previously been incarcerated, while others are simply seeking advice and direction. This role is a short term 2 month contract initially, working direct for the charity to cover a period of sickness (it could extend).
Your role will involve:
1:1 Support: Delivering tailored guidance through in-person meetings, phone calls, or virtual sessions (Teams). Sessions can range from a one-off meeting to regular ongoing support.
Helping Fathers Access Services: Signposting to relevant services such as housing, employment support, or legal guidance.
Collaborating with Partner Organisations: Working closely with charities such as Bridge the Gap to help fathers access group activities like cooking classes, co-parenting workshops, or recreational events with their children.
Liaising with Professionals: Engaging with schools, social workers, and other agencies to support the needs of fathers and their families.
Flexible Schedule: Supporting up to 5–10 fathers per week, with travel across different boroughs as required
