Job Description

EU Road Freight Operator – Felixstowe Salary £27-33K DOE + Bonus Free Parking Pension International freight forwarding company in Felixstowe are seeking an experienced EU Road Freight Operator to join their team, you will be joining their Wine & Spirits team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in EU freight operations, along with knowledge of the excise duty regulations, customs procedures, and licensing requirements involved in alcohol transportation This is a great opportunity to expand your skills as the company will actively look at career progression The Role Plan, arrange, and oversee road freight shipments across Europe, including duty-paid and duty-suspended alcohol movements. Liaise with customers, suppliers, hauliers, and customs authorities to ensure compliance with all regulations. Manage groupage, full loads (FTL), and part loads (LTL) shipments, ensuring temperature-controlled transport where required. Ensure all customs and excise documentation is correctly completed, including EMCS (Excise Movement and Control System) and ARC (Administrative Reference Code) documents. Track and monitor shipments, proactively resolving any issues to avoid delays or non-compliance. Negotiate freight rates with suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions while considering excise duties and taxation. Handle administrative tasks related to freight movement, including invoicing and data entry. Skills * At least 3 years experience in EU Road Freight Operations from start to finish * Customs experience would be a bonus * knowledge of excise duty regulations, customs procedures, and bonded warehousing * Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. * Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
