I'm currently working with a UK wide client that is searching for a driven individual to come in and make this role their own. This role is ideal for someone who is looking to step up into an Engineering Managers role, or someone who is looking to build their own team, have the freedom to contribute to the wider business and develop their own skills by getting experience at this level. You'll oversee all site maintenance, manage contractors, and lead a high-performing engineering team. You’ll ensure smooth operations, drive safety standards, and optimize plant performance.
With scope for investment, and with plans for growth and development within the business to help improve PPM systems, and have CAPEX budget input, you're enthusiasm and drive is something which is vital for this role. Your energy is as important as your excellent engineering skills, as you are the main face for the team. You will need to have a strong hands on approach, so when needed, you can offer your machinal/electrical hand to help.
What You’ll Do:
Lead and develop the engineering team
Manage maintenance activities across the site
Ensure compliance with safety & food industry standards
Drive efficiency, reduce downtime, and optimize resources
Oversee contractor work and equipment servicing
CAPEX budgeting
Your Experience:
You will need to have managed a team before, whether that be big or small
Have the desire to improve a team, build relations and be a vital cog in the wheel of a smooth operations
Be educated ideally up to HNC, but NVQ or City and Guilds Level 3 is acceptable (Mechanically or Electrically)
FMCG / Manufacturing / Food / Packaging Background
