Job Description

Job Title: Engineering Manager- Electrical Engineering (Power) Salary: up to £62,000 per annum dependent upon experience + 10% bonus Location: Manchester We currently have a vacancy to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as an Engineering Manager- Electrical Engineering (Power). The role will be based in Manchester but offers the opportunity for hybrid working and flexible working hours. Individual circumstances can be discussed. They work at the cutting edge of technology, creating more than 100 new inventions every year for customers in over 100 countries. Joining the Electrical Engineering (Power) team, the Engineering Manager will be leading the newly formed and growing team of engineers, working on technical specifications and engineering deliverables. You will have the opportunity to work with other areas of the business as well, liaising with various stakeholders. There will also be opportunities for progression. Main Responsibilities: * Leading and managing engineering staff or business partnerships/ Sub-contracts * Performing appropriate engineering planning, management and review activities to ensure Products are integrated, safe, fully compliant and delivered within agreed requirements for cost, quality, time and schedule * Assuring the maturity of the developed solutions is appropriate for the specific requirement and that all technical risks and opportunities are captured * Reviewing the processes and procedures within the span of control to reduce waste, improve efficiency and establish a dynamic and flexible best in class capability * Ensuring all engineering activities are undertaken in line with the Operational Framework and that compliance with all engineering policies is maintained * Chair LCM Design Reviews and/or technical bid reviews for minor projects and provide significant contribution to larger projects Benefits: * Possible relocation package * Enhanced Pension scheme- up to 14% combined * Flexible working pattern including working from home/ flexible start and finish times * 25 holiday days plus bank holidays- 26 days after 5 years’ service/ 27 days after 10 years’ service * Shared Incentive Plan * Employee Assistance Programme * Cycle to Work Scheme * Life Assurance (you and your spouse/ partner)- 6 x salary * Ill Health Income Protection/ Private Medical Insurance- 50% of salary About You: Essential: * Chartership or working towards * Engineering degree or equivalent experience * Experience in power systems modelling, switchgear, protection and power electronics Desirable: * Knowledge of defence standards * Experience of working with engineering life cycle You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years About Aeropeople: Whether you’re looking for your next job or searching out the next superstar to join your team… Aeropeople’s expertise and experience is entrenched in the aerospace, aviation, engineering, motorsport, automotive, and defence industries.
