Job Description

Location: Bristol Starting Salary - Up to £45,000 Overview of Business & Opportunity: This is an opportunity to join a team in process of growing and broadening their skills. This team has a focus of designing the highest quality Safety Critical Products in their Sector. These products are used and recognised globally. As an Electronics Technician, you'll be in the thick of it, focusing on new product development, building prototypes, designing wiring looms, assembling and testing electronic components, circuits, and systems. Your skills in general electronics gained within a manufacturing environment will be absolutely vital. Skills Required: * Highly proficient in soldering and using common electronic test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator) * Highly proficient in reading electronic circuit diagrams and engineering drawings. * Logical, methodical, meticulous approach to building, testing, and documenting * Some familiarity and experience with simple electronic design preferred – from requirements and concept to working prototype. * Comfortable working on a task alone or in a team. Able to seek support when needed. Beneficial Experience: * Some familiarity and experience with programming preferred, on microcontrollers (assembly language, C, Python, ..) Duties: * Building, testing, and documenting prototypes, cables, etc. Testing may involve on-site work. * BOM population and checking, including researching new and alterative components * Simple design work, e.g. cables, small products, or test harnesses. Could include some microcontroller and/or PC programming. * Liaising with Production Engineering for NPI handover * Initial investigation of product issues from Production or field that have escalated from Production Engineering into Product Development. Person specification: * Prior experience of liaising with suppliers and/or customers via phone and email * Strong motivation and commitment to learn all aspects of the role * Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise accordingly * Willingness to work on site as required Benefits: * Flexible Working Hours * Midday Finish on Fridays * Enhanced Employer Pension Contribution * Discretionary Performance Related Bonus
