Electronic design engineer – London - £55K
Hexwired have partnered with an exciting electronics manufacturer in the London area who are looking to add an electronics design engineer to their R&D team. They are looking for someone with around 4-5 years of electronic design experience in schematic design and PCB layout.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and development of electronic products, from initial concept to schematic creation, PCB layout, and manufacturing.
* Collaborate with external manufacturers to create prototypes, optimize production processes, and ensure regulatory compliance.
* Work alongside firmware and FPGA developers during the design and debugging phases.
* Analyse and resolve issues reported by manufacturing teams or technical support, contributing to improvements for both existing and future products.
Essential Qualifications
* A degree in Electronics Engineering (minimum 2:1) or equivalent professional experience.
* 4–5 years of experience in electronics engineering, including schematic design and PCB layout, with a proven track record of contributing to successfully shipped products.
* Expertise in high-speed digital design and measurement techniques.
* Hands-on skills in assembling, testing, and modifying electronic circuits.
* Experience with DDR memory system design.
* Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including mentoring colleagues or managing small teams.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Familiarity with one or more of the following areas:
* Signal integrity simulation.
* FPGA-based systems.
* EMC compliance techniques.
* Design of complex, high-layer-count PCBs (8+ layers).
* OrCAD Cadence or Zuken Cadstar PCB design software.
