Job Description
I'm currently working in partnership with a leading facilities management and service provider with the hire of an Electrician into their defence division for the UK military base in the Falklands, South Atlantic.
Electrician
£30,000-£38,000 tax free salary, free accommodation, bonus
Location: Falkland Islands, South Atlantic
Planned/ response maintenance and new works on various plant and systems including: Electrical Equipment and Installations, Hazardous Areas Systems, and Fire Alarms.
Duties
Undertake electrical installation and maintenance of low voltage systems including Electrical equipment and installations, Hazardous areas and Fire Alarms.
Carry out Pre Planned maintenance tasks and reactive works on the MOD estate
Work to electrical drawings e.g. installation, circuit diagrams and line schematics.
Modify or update drawings as necessary to maintain an accurate record.
Produce a quality end product first time with no re-work required
Qualify for entry in Skilled Persons Register
Accurately record details of repairs on work dockets and complete labour records for time worked.
Key
Qualified electrical (18th Edition) BS7671 qualified, City & Guilds, Requirements for Electrical Installations or equivalent
BS 2391 (or equivalent) Testing & Inspection of Electrical installations
IOSH managing safely
Knowledge of Permit to Work systems
Full driving license
Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
Good communication skills
Enthusiastic and flexible approach.
Self motivated team member with ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable
Electrical Qualifications
CompEx Electrical CompEx EX01, EX02, EX03, EX04
C&G (or equivalent) Certificate in Design, Installation, Commissioning and Certification of Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Systems.
AP electrical
Experienced in all aspects of electrical installation and maintenance of low voltage systems.
Capable of working to and understanding Drawings i.e. Installation, Circuit Diagrams and Line Schematics.
Good working knowledge of H&S legislation
Served recognised apprenticeship.
Experience of working abroad
Experience of an MOD environment

Full Time 24-month tour
Notice period 2 months
Free single occupancy accommodation
Free 3x meals per day at the Mess

Site allowance 5% of monthly pay (paid monthly)
Tour bonus 10% (paid annually)
Compliance requirements - security, visa, medical and dental
