Electrical Technician
Location: East Anglia
Contract: Immediate start – End of June 2025 (with potential for permanent transition)
Shifts: 24/7 pattern (days and nights), averaging 56 hours per week
Toro Recruitment is proud to partner with a cutting-edge waste-to-energy company in East Anglia that is leading the charge toward a more sustainable energy future. As part of their flagship project, they are now looking for an Electrical Technician to support critical phases of commissioning and operation.
About the Role:
As an Electrical Technician, you will play a key role during the plant’s commissioning and operational ramp-up. You’ll ensure that electrical systems, instrumentation, and controls are properly installed, calibrated, tested, and functioning safely and efficiently throughout the commissioning phases and into continuous operation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support cold and hot commissioning activities, including electrical inspections and testing.
* Calibrate and troubleshoot electrical equipment and control systems.
* Monitor electrical systems during 24/7 operations, ensuring all equipment operates within safety parameters.
* Diagnose and resolve electrical faults quickly to minimise downtime.
* Assist in managing electrical documentation, schematics, and test records.
* Support safe energisation and isolation procedures in line with site protocols.
* Collaborate with mechanical and operations teams to ensure plant performance.
Requirements:
* Prior experience working with industrial electrical systems, ideally within energy, utilities, or heavy industry.
* Relevant electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable).
* Knowledge of electrical safety, fault-finding, and commissioning practices.
* Experience with plant start-up or commissioning projects is a strong advantage.
* Clear and confident communication skills are essential.
