Electrical Shift Technician – Thornton Heath – Up to £52K + HV/LV Training

Role Overview
As an Electrical Shift Technician, you will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of critical and building services systems across the site. Working on a continental shift pattern (days and nights, 06:00 – 18:00), you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of all electrical and mechanical assets.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs) and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems across the site.
* HV/LV Systems: Assist in high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) maintenance and switching operations (training provided).
* Power Systems: Maintain and troubleshoot generators, UPS systems, and diesel generators to ensure an uninterrupted power supply.
* Cooling & Ventilation: Service and repair CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) and CRAH (Computer Room Air Handling) units, chillers, cooling towers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), and Fan Coil Units (FCUs).
* Building Services Maintenance: Oversee emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, power distribution, water treatment, and general electrical maintenance.
* Comms Rooms & Critical Infrastructure: Ensure the reliability and performance of server rooms and other mission-critical environments.
* Fault Finding & Repairs: Diagnose and rectify faults quickly to minimize downtime and maintain system integrity.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with industry regulations and site-specific safety procedures.
Requirements
* Strong background in building services maintenance within a critical environment (e.g., data centres, hospitals, financial institutions).
* Recognized electrical qualifications, including:
* 18th Edition
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
* City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Experience working on HV/LV systems (training provided).
* Ability to work continental shifts (days & nights, 06:00 – 18:00).
* Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills with the ability to work under pressure.
