Vision for Education are a Welsh Government Approved Agency in Wales Secondary Cover Supervisor: Welsh Medium Are you a teaching assistant looking for your next step in education? We have had two exciting opportunities become available to work within a Welsh medium secondary school in the Cardiff & Barry area as a cover supervisor. We are actively looking to find an individual with experience, confidence and has a can-do attitude which will be invaluable in a classroom environment. You will be responsible for supporting secondary aged pupils and covering the class while the class teacher is away. The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this role due to being in a Welsh medium secondary school Duties will include: Covering secondary aged classes while the teacher is away Maintaining classroom discipline in line with the school discipline policy Building rapport between yourself and pupils Supporting pupils as they undertake work in line with the national curriculum priorities Promoting the school ethos and adhering to all school policies and procedures Working closely with all school colleagues and under direction of the school leadership team. The ideal candidate will: Be a fluent Welsh speaker An excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum Have experience of working in a Secondary School setting Have strong classroom management skills Be registered (or willing to register) with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) Be a passionate practitioner with the desire to improve the education outcomes for all pupils Have excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels Be able to support and promote the ethos of the school Benefits include: Excellent rate of pay – minimum of £100 - £120 per day Auto enrolment into company pension scheme Dedicated consultant to help support you throughout your time at Vision Free CPD training including cover supervisor training Refer a friend scheme and earn up to £125 per friend / recommendation Weekly Pay & flexible working hours Due to the nature of this role, an enhanced DBS check will take place prior to employment.
