Job Title: Contracts Manager Location: Greater Manchester Job Type: Full-Time Salary: £40k - £50k About Us: Our client is a well-established and respected joinery contractor operating across the North West of England. Specialising in commercial projects, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality craftsmanship and professional site management. They are currently seeking a Contracts Manager with a strong joinery background to join their growing team. Role Overview: They are looking for a proactive and experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in joinery, possess excellent organisational and leadership skills, and be confident in ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient site operations. Key Responsibilities: Act as the main point of contact for projects under your management. Ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and to a high standard of quality. Oversee all aspects of health and safety on site, including RAMS, permits to work, toolbox talks, audits, and risk management. Coordinate and manage site resources, including joiners, materials, and subcontractors. Conduct site inspections and manage quality control. Collate and record project variations and material take-offs. Handle ordering and receiving of goods. Liaise regularly with head office and provide progress updates to the Quantity Surveyor and Directors. Maintain accurate records and use basic IT tools such as Excel, Word, and email. Requirements: Minimum 3 years' experience in a site management or supervisory role in construction. Proven background as a qualified joiner (NVQ Level 3 in Joinery essential). Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices on construction sites. Confident using IT systems for reporting and communication. Excellent problem-solving and forward-thinking abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Commercial awareness and a high level of duty of care.
