Community Safety Officer
Castle Vale, Birmingham
£35,424 per annum
37 hours Monday to Friday
The Community Safety Officer will be able to deliver a person-centred approach to handling anti-social behaviour and tenancy breaches in our community through mediation and excellent case management.
You will manage a caseload where legal interventions are required, so you will have a good working relationship with several of our internal and external partners in getting a positive resolution to cases as well as good working knowledge of housing and anti-social behaviour legislation.

As a Community Safety Officer, you will
*
proactively work to understand the needs of customers and the safeguarding and vulnerabilities that may arise whilst delivering the job
*
manage and prepare cases for court proceedings and update regularly on their position as well as being a leading officer regarding high level ASB.
*
work closely with customers to develop strong relationships with local communities, and positive and collaborative relationships with key agencies and internal teams.
*
Work with other teams and stakeholders to really help customers be involved in our service delivery.
*
To manage ASB cases, supporting victims and seeking enforcement remedies where appropriate. Negotiate and mediate low level neighbour disputes.
The successful Community Safety Officer will have:
*
Experience in a Housing Management environment within Social Housing or similar transferable skills
*
Experience of working with customers from diverse backgrounds tackling complex issues housing and similar related
*
Ability to communicate effectively and adapt style to meet the needs of recipient
*
Ability to meet deadlines and to monitor & manage performance
*
a commitment to building a strong, high performing team
*
Ability to handle challenging situations and able to think on your feet.
*
Ability to represent the organization in all settings and act as an ambassador.
*
Experience of managing cases of anti-social behaviour through to court.
*
Good knowledge of legislation surrounding tenancy management and ASB.
