Communication Support Worker - Hounslow - Immediate Start Pertemps Education is seeking an experienced Communication Support Worker to join a mainstream secondary school in Hounslow. This role involves providing essential communication support to deaf students, ensuring they can fully access the curriculum and thrive in their education. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with strong British Sign Language (BSL) abilities and experience supporting deaf students in a school setting. Job Title: Communication Support Worker Location: Hounslow Pay: £95.00 - £120.00 per day Start Date: Immediate Interview Date: ASAP Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and group communication support for deaf students within a mainstream secondary school setting. Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, and peers using British Sign Language (BSL). Adapt learning materials and resources to meet the specific needs of individual students. Collaborate with teachers and other staff to deliver an inclusive and supportive education. Support students’ social and emotional development, fostering independence and self-confidence. Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining open communication with staff and parents. Promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.Qualifications and Skills: A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL) is essential. Previous experience as a Communication Support Worker in a school or similar setting is required. A solid understanding of the needs of deaf students and strategies for effective communication in a mainstream environment. Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students and staff. Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
