Catering Assistant
Location: Chandlers Ford
Hours of work: 6:30 am to 3pm Monday to Friday
Salary : £25000
Duration : Please note that this is a temporary position to begin with but could lead to a permanent position for the right person
Start Date : Immediate start
Dynamite recruitment is currently working in partnership with a very well-established business who have multiple sites up and down the country.
Due to the offices becoming busier our client has opened their onsite Canteen again and is now looking for a Catering Assistant / Food Service Assistant to join the Catering team asap.
As a Catering Assistant / Food service Assistant you will be working closely with head Chef and catering team to support with a smooth running of a busy Canteen
As a Catering Assistant you will be required to :
Assist Customers with their needs.
Support then Head Chef and step in to assist with cooking where required – to cover holidays.
To assist on the tills
To help serve food.
To actively gain customer feedback, passing information gained onto your line manager.
To report health and safety issues to your line manager, including all accidents and near misses
To operate machinery as shown and trained to do so, ensuring that the equipment is used safely and in accordance with regulations and company policy.
To serve customers with hot and cold food and beverages on a counter during service times
To ensure all displays, counters and seating areas are clean and comply with statutory health and hygiene requirements.
To assist in the preparation of food as required
To clean all work areas during and after use and remove all waste to the appropriate are.
To maintain temperature records as required and to report any variance.
To open Kitchen and prep for Breakfast service
The ideal Catering Assistant / Food Service Assistant will have / be.
Available to start asap.
Will ideally have assisted in a Catering role/ Kitchen previously.
Be willing to train and adjust to positions as and when needed.
Good communication skills in order to be able to liaise with a wide range of team members and customers.
Customer service focused.
Self-motivated and able to use own initiative.
Able to work under pressure whilst maintaining a positive attitude.
Able to follow instruction clearly.
Attention to detail and completing tasks to a high standard.
Working in a fast-paced customer facing environment
A food hygiene certificate is preferred but isn't essential
