Job Description
A family run joinery company on the outskirts of Colchester, Essex are currently recruiting for a Cabinet Maker.
This position is paying between £34,000 - £39,300 per annum, depending on experience. This will lead to a permanent role after a successful 3 month probation period.
Overview of the role:
As a cabinet maker, you will be expected to work collaboratively within a team of 16 staff, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently and report daily to the workshop supervisor.
Hours of work:
Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 4:30pm & Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm (42-hour week)
Duties include:
Using spindle moulders, tenoning machines, edge banders, speed sanding machines, cross cut saws plus much more
Reporting stock levels to line manager
Accurately record jobs on time sheets
To produce kitchens and other high-end bespoke products from timber
Ensure work is quality control checked to the required standard
Utilise the correct machinery for the job and operate to safety guidelines
Interpret drawings/job sheets & cutting lists
Candidate requirements:
Strong Team Player
Ability to read from technical drawings
Good problem solving skills
Apprenticeship, NVQ or Diploma in furniture/cabinet making or joinery
