Buyer (Indirect Procurement)
Are you a confident procurement professional looking for an opportunity to make a real impact? I am looking for a dynamic Buyer with solid indirect procurement experience to lead purchasing strategies across vital business areas like services, equipment, packaging, and more. If you're passionate about driving cost efficiencies, building strategic supplier relationships, and championing sustainable practices, this is the role for you!
I'm working with a forward thinking company based in Chichester who pride themselves on innovation, collaboration, and reputation. As a Buyer, you'll play a key role in ensuring the business operations run smoothly and efficiently, all while working in a vibrant, inclusive environment that values your contributions.
The Role:
Oversee indirect spend categories like Energy, Facilities, IT, Packaging, and Transport to maximise value and supplier performance.
Analyse spending data and identify cost-saving opportunities in high-spend categories.
Negotiate contracts, manage performance, and foster strong partnerships to secure the best terms for the company.
Proactively identify procurement risks and develop strategies to maintain continuity of supply.
Work closely with finance, operations, and project teams to align procurement with business goals.
You:
At least 2 years in an indirect procurement role, preferably in agriculture, FMCG, or manufacturing, managing high-spend categories.
Strong data analysis skills to optimise spending and supplier performance.
Proven success in negotiating cost-effective supplier agreements.
A collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
CIPS qualification (or working towards it) is desirable.
Degree in procurement, supply chain, or a related field (preferred).
Proficiency in procurement software and Excel.
