Autism Support Assistant – SEN school in Nuneaton
PK Education
Location: Nuneaton
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term( Monday-Friday 8.30-3.30)
Start Date: After Febuary half term
Salary: £90 – £115 per day (dependant on experience)
Are you passionate about supporting students with autism in their educational journey? Do you have the resilience and skills to work within a SEND resource provision classrooms? If so, we want to hear from you!
We are currently seeking a dedicated Autism Support Assistant to join a SEN provision in Nuneaton, working full-time, long-term. In this role, you will support students with autism both in the resource provision on a 1:1 and small group basis, supporting the class teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with autism, ensuring they access the curriculum and engage in learning.
Support students in lessons, assisting them with key subjects.
Work closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure the students’ needs are met and their progress is tracked.
Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
Key Requirements:
A strong awareness and understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly autism.
Passion for supporting students and a commitment to making a positive impact on their educational experience.
Resilience and adaptability in managing the diverse challenges that may arise in the classroom.
A solid understanding of the secondary school curriculum and the ability to support students in core subjects.
Previous experience working with students with SEND or additional needs is highly desirable.
