Our client is a successful manufacturing company with exciting plans for growth, who are looking to appoint an Applications Engineer.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Applications Engineer will be responsible for acting as the interface between product development and customer requirements. We are looking for a customer-focused Mechanical Engineer with strong problem-solving skills and experience of working with customers and cross-functional teams throughout the lifecycle of the development of products.
Key Responsibilities of the Applications Engineer
* Supporting the Technical Manager and cross functional teams throughout the inception and life cycle of products
* Supporting customers with current and developmental applications, recommending / developing products based on the needs of specific applications
* Leading applications engineering / new product introduction / development projects
* Ensuring project documentation is collected and maintained
* Compiling cost estimates and supporting the RFQ process
* Supporting sales and manufacturing teams
* Customer and Supplier visits
* Supporting materials and process teams to develop new materials, processes and products
* Development and refinement of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with key quality requirements is maintained
Requirements of the Applications engineer
* Mechanical Engineering ideally a degree but this is not essential
* Understanding of Engineering drawings, and how to interpret
* Experience of interfacing between product development and the customer to provide innovative and effective solutions
