Job Post: Temporary Accommodation Officer
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify suitable temporary accommodation (TA) for homeless applicants in collaboration with letting agents and private landlords.
* Ensure all interactions with applicants are empathetic, trauma-informed, and sensitive.
* Communicate TA details effectively, including landlord information and property access.
* Maintain accurate records of all TA placements, lettings, and associated costs, ensuring compliance with council systems and audit requirements.
* Utilise IT systems for efficient service delivery and maintain compliance with data protection and health and safety legislation.
* Uphold the council’s core values of public service, equality, and customer service excellence.
Essential Criteria:
* Experience in a housing-related field, including procurement, lettings, or housing management.
* Strong knowledge of social and private housing markets, including Local Authority schemes.
* Proven ability to work in a performance-focused team and negotiate effectively with landlords.
* Understanding of housing and health and safety legislation, including landlord and tenant law.
* Exceptional communication skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders.
Special Requirements:
* Enhanced/Standard DBS clearance will be required.
