Ab Initio Development SME

Role Description:
Experienced Ab Initio Technical specialist who can join the Ab Initio Upgrade program for a leading UK Insurance provider. Time bound program aimed at unblocking a major migration strategy for the customer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Technical Specialists with good technical knowledge of the Ab Initio tool set and ability to develop that knowledge to cover the complete set of Ab Initio products.
* The input and insight provided by this role will vary from participation at workshops, drafting of whole sections of design deliverables, completing the entire deliverable and to taking responsibility for completion of deliverables depending on the circumstances and as required.
* Review technical specifications to ensure solutions comply with standards and architecture and can be implemented with due consideration of resilience, operability, scalability and use.
* Deliver technical consultancy, proactive advice, insight and knowledge into a wide range of application areas to help drive the use of the Ab Initio tool set in ways which are appropriate and advantageous to the client. In doing so provide input to proposals and in the initiation, estimating, planning, design and development stages of a project to ensure solutions maximize benefit, efficiency and cost for the client.
* Provide mentoring on Ab Initio best practices and solutions
Key Skills:
* Excellent and relevant Technical Domain experience and knowledge of customer applications – architecture, design, functionality, components, processes, data and underlying software - with versatility to move across business areas on the Account or elsewhere within the organization.
* Ability to produce accurate and high-quality solution, estimates and design documentation. · Experience of carrying out Q/A Reviews for large and/or complex applications.
* Technical domain knowledge in various Ab Initio products such as Ab Initio GDE, Data Profiler, Express>IT, Conduct>IT, Meta Data Hub, EME and Query>IT. Also in-depth knowledge on LINUX, DB2, ORACLE, SQL server, IMS, SAS, MS Access, etc
